In this 3-minute video interview we get the story on Web 2.0 startup GoMiles from co-founder Michael Komarnitsky.
GoMiles was formed seven month ago, and is an applicant to the new “Seattle TechStars“ program for early-stage startups. GoMiles has a slick, automated solution to ease the pain of tracking those pesky, vexing travel mileage program accounts.
There are a number of nifty, surprise benefits which flow from using this “Mint.com” like site for tracking travel reward mileage accounts. We cover that, along with his perspective on the dynamic Seattle startup culture (TechStars, TechFlash, Michael Arrington of TechCrunch.com’s recent move to Seattle, etc) in this interview.
The company is still in private Beta testing mode (already managing 19M travel points), but will launch this summer. StartupTrek visitors are invited to go to GoMiles.com and enter invite code “STARTUPTREK” in order to become private Beta users of the site (offer limited to first 100 users).
The startup’s SaaS application provides as the core service a means of automatically tracking all the details relating to Frequent Flyer Airline, Hotel, and Car Rental loyalty and awards programs. The free site also brings to registered user’s attention, relevant specials being promoted by Airlines, Hotel Chains, and Car rental agencies; and prevents the expiration of miles.
